Where The Wild Ponies Run

Someday, I'll run where the wild ponies run.

Meet mustangs and pintos on sacred ground

Where bison, antelope, and wolves are found

And majestic snow-capped mountains meet the sky

There on Wind River range, I will fly.

Someday, I'll run where the wild ponies run.

Lost in the wildwood of red rock canyons,

Ghosts of yesterday will be my companions.

Dizzy with the smell of sweet singing sage

'Till golden autumn abruptly brings change.

Someday,  I'll run where the wild ponies run.

Bedazzled by the drifting deep snows

I'll hide from the Arctic wind as it blows

Sometimes, in distant dreams, I can hear

In the beat of a drum - that their hooves are near.

Someday, I'll run where the wild ponies run

This dream once hindered by the burden of youth

Is now believed and I am telling the truth

Someday, with wild ponies, I shall play

Free of constraints and delight in that day!
