Grand Canyon Visit

I stand and search the beauty surrounding me

I revel in the jagged deep canyons where

Shadows play hide and seek at the whim of the sun

Sunbeams spotlight the stratified walls and ravines

Where the colors play in peach, rose, and plum.

Gentle breezes flow by me:  their waves of magic

Entice winged creatures to glide and soar on currents,

Their vibrant notes, heard above,  change at dusk

To whisperings and the color of the canyons deepens.

I listen with my heart, my busy mind calms. I am at peace.
